LMX 4% Numbing Gel For IPL Treatments

Product Description

Non-prescription strength numbing gel used by many doctors and clinics for pre-treatments of IPL and other procedures.

Product Description L.M.X. 4 contains 4% lidocaine and can be used to relieve pain caused by minor cuts, minor burns, abrasions, sunburn, and insect bites. Lidocaine preparations are also commonly used by physicians and other health care professionals to numb the skin prior to performing minor surgery, insertion of IV lines, obtaining blood specimens, and other such procedures. Following the application of L.M.X.4, you may notice a slight cooling sensation followed by an increased numbing feeling in the area covered by the cream. Areas of skin not in contact with the skin will not be affected. Although it is not necessary to cover the area after application of L.M.X.4, it is recommended when using on young children to prevent accidental ingestion or removal of the cream. Do not apply L.M.X.4 to children under two years of age without consulting a physician. Prior to applying L.M.X.4, use only mild soap and water to clean the area. Do not use skin cleansers containing alcohol or acetone as they will strip the naturally occuring oils that L.M.X.4 needs to penetrate the skin. L.M.X.4 should only be used externally. Do not put L.M.X.4 in your mouth, nose or inside the ear. Be careful not to get any in your eyes. Do not use in large quantities, particularly over very raw surfaces or blistered areas. L.M.X.4 (Lidocaine 4%) L.M.X.4 is a topical anesthetic cream that is similar to EMLA. At the nerve endings, L.M.X.4 causes numbing of the skin and surrounding tissue. Applying L.M.X.4 DO NOT CLEANSE THE SKIN prior to L.M.X.4 application (although you should not apply over moisturizers or other topical medications). L.M.X.4 works best when it mixes with the skin surface oils. Begin by rubbing a small amount of L.M.X.4 cream into each of the sites for ~ 30 seconds. Make sure you are wearing gloves. Follow this application with a thicker coating of L.M.X.4 cream. Cover cream with an occlusive dressing (ex. Tegaderm or round Band-aids). Although L.M.X.4 does not require the use of an occlusive dressing, one is recommended for use in children to ensure adequate contact of the cream with the skin and to prevent the accidental ingestion of the cream. Do NOT flatten the cream (L.M.X.4 works best when it is applied thickly). After the product is removed, the skin should be cleaned and prepared as usual for the procedure. L.M.X.4 starts to work in ~ 30 minutes. Total application time should usually not exceed 60 minutes (rubbing it in longer has not been shown to increase its effect). It lasts approximately 60 minutes.
